The point is to get as many links back to your site with your keywords anchor text telling the search engine's what to rank your site for and how important it is. The reason you want to spin your articles is so that the search engines will not discount or disregard your links on other pages because it has found the same exact text and links on other sites, thus allowing you to having 100's or 1000's of unique versions of your article, all over the internet, giving you their full support.
